Galleries

The Art Center holds several galleries, each featuring regional exhibits that rotate each month. The main galleries, named Meadows, Dorothy Kucera, Lockett, Courtyard, Bayview and Hall, all showcase works from the local art community. Visitors can find art, jewelry, and pottery for sale along with free kids art activity across the eclectic exhibition space.

Art Center History

Art groups formed the Art Community Center in 1972, originally housed in the Old Centennial Museum Building on Park Avenue. As a forum for the arts community to communicate and exchange ideas, the inspired space would develop to incorporate exhibits, events, workshops and meetings among community members. In the 1980s, advocate Dorothy Kucera – the namesake of one of the galleries – helped move the center to its current location on Shoreline Drive. The facility was renovated in 2000 and today serves as a multi-purpose art center located in the premier bayfront district of Corpus Christi.
